About the creator
Margaret Kamara, CEO
This initiative was founded by Margaret Kamara, a passionate advocate for rural development and food security in Sierra Leone. With deep roots in the community and a strong commitment to sustainable agriculture, Margaret Kamara has dedicated her efforts to empowering local farmers, improving livelihoods, and ensuring that no family goes hungry.
Driven by a vision of self-sufficient rural communities, she combines grassroots experience with innovative solutions to tackle food insecurity from the ground up. This mission is more than a project—it’s a lifelong calling to uplift Sierra Leone’s rural heartlands.

Our Programs
We focus on Rice and Cassava farming as key staples to promote food sufficiency in Sierra Leone’s rural communities. Our programs are designed to:
- Cultivate high-yield, climate-resilient rice and cassava varieties on community-managed farms.
- Empower local farmers with training, tools, and support to improve agricultural productivity.
- Ensure affordable access to rice and cassava produce for families in rural areas by minimizing supply chain costs and promoting local distribution.
- Create jobs and stimulate rural economies through value-added processing and market access initiatives.
