Join us in the fight against food insecurity

To create an environment in Sierra Leone where food security is ensured for all, enabling every household to have reliable access to safe, nutritious, and affordable food.

To empower communities, farmers, and stakeholders through sustainable agriculture, innovation, education, and partnerships, reducing dependency on food imports and building resilience against hunger, poverty, and climate change.

A Sierra Leone where no one goes hungry, where agriculture drives economic growth, and where resilient, self-reliant communities thrive with dignity and opportunity.

We focus on Rice and Cassava farming as key staples to promote food sufficiency in Sierra Leone’s rural communities. Our programs are designed to:

At Moyoisah GreenGrow Initiative, cultivating the land represents a deep respect for nature and a responsibility to future generations. We view the land as a living resource that must be cared for, restored, and used wisely. Healthy soil, clean water, and balanced ecosystems are the foundation of lasting food security and community well-being.
Our work emphasizes sustainable and climate-smart agriculture, including soil regeneration, crop rotation, organic inputs, agroforestry, and efficient water management. These practices help farmers increase productivity while reducing land degradation and vulnerability to climate change. By improving soil fertility and conserving natural resources, we enable farms to remain productive year after year.
Cultivating the land also means cultivating people. We provide training and hands-on support to farmers, youth, and women, equipping them with practical skills and knowledge to manage their land sustainably. This empowerment builds confidence, creates livelihoods, and encourages long-term stewardship of the environment.
Through responsible land cultivation, Moyoisah GreenGrow Initiative is restoring ecosystems, strengthening rural economies, and planting the seeds for a greener, healthier, and hunger-free future.
In response to the persistent challenges of food insecurity and heavy reliance on food imports, the Government of Sierra Leone is introducing a comprehensive Agricultural Development Initiative focused on achieving staple food sufficiency across the country. This strategic intervention aligns with and enhances the existing Feed Salone Project, a flagship national program dedicated to revitalizing the agricultural sector and improving food sovereignty.
The initiative aims to empower local farmers, promote sustainable farming practices, expand access to improved seeds and agricultural technologies, and strengthen value chains for key staple crops such as rice, cassava, maize, and groundnuts. By investing in irrigation, storage, and processing infrastructure, the government seeks to increase productivity, reduce post-harvest losses, and ensure year-round food availability.
This initiative also integrates youth and women empowerment, climate-smart agriculture, and public-private partnerships to create a resilient and inclusive agricultural system capable of feeding the nation. Through coordinated efforts with local communities, international partners, and research institutions, Sierra Leone envisions a future where every household has access to affordable and nutritious food, grown and processed within its borders.
